The patron saint of Chiusanico is Saint Stephen, celebrated on 26 December, in the parish church dedicated to him in the main town: the present reconstruction, in the late Neoclassical style to a design by Gaetano Cantoni, dates from the 19th century and was completed in 1840. Inside are preserved fine paintings of Spanish origin, a triptych by Giulio De Rossi, and polychrome marbles from the 17th and 18th centuries.
Before Santo Stefano, Chiusanico's first parish church was that of San Lorenzo, erected as a pieve in the early Middle Ages and the ancient religious mother church and prepositure of the entire area on behalf of the diocese of Albenga: set among the olive groves near the locality of Castello, the town's first medieval settlement, it was built with a single nave. The municipal territory also preserves the sanctuary of the Madonna della Visitazione and the medieval tower.
