Fifty-five thousand olive trees have been counted in the territory of Lucinasco: in a municipality of just under three hundred people that comes to something like two hundred trees each. Outside the village, beside a small lake, stands the church of Santo Stefano; a little further on, Santa Maria Maddalena, Romanesque of the fifteenth century, is a national monument.
In 1234 the people of Lucinasco rose against the counts of Ventimiglia. Genoa sent soldiers and put things back in order; then, on 20 December of that same year, the counts came back and presented the bill: the inhabitants had to pay the war costs of their own revolt. The population is 280.
