The patroness of Cipressa is the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, celebrated on 2 July. The parish church dedicated to her, in the historic centre of the town, was built in the 17th century in Baroque style with a single nave.
In the hamlet of Lingueglietta stands the fortress-church of San Pietro, the symbol-monument of the village: a rare example of a religious building from the mid-13th century converted into a fortress for defensive reasons, at the time of the Barbary raids that afflicted western Liguria around the mid-16th century. Also in Lingueglietta stands the parish church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, likewise from the 13th century, whose last left-side altar has held since 1762 the mortal remains of a saint, an object of particular local devotion.
