The patron saints of Testico are Saints Peter and Paul, celebrated on 29 June. Roman rule was followed by the evangelising work of Benedictine monks, who renamed the place San Pietro del Testico; part of the County of Albenga as early as 869, according to the charter of King Louis II, the territory fell between the 12th and 13th centuries among the holdings of the Castellany of Montarosio, subject to the civil and criminal jurisdiction of the diocese of Albenga as an ecclesiastical fief.
The parish church of Saints Peter and Paul was rebuilt in the 17th century in Baroque style and holds inside a fine 16th-century altarpiece by Lazzaro Tavarone, as well as 18th-century frescoes on the baptistery and vault. During the years of the Napoleonic campaigns, in 1796, the transalpine troops crossed the Ginestro pass and reached Testico, where they stripped the parish church of every precious good, plundering the town and disfiguring the old Doria noble coat of arms above the church portal. In the hamlet of Ginestro stands the parish church of San Bernardo, dating from the 18th century.
