The patron saint of Aurigo is Saint Paul, celebrated on 29 June, in the sanctuary church dedicated to him, its interior adorned with late-17th-century stuccoes by Gio Paolo Marvaldi.
Aurigo's first settlement stood further uphill from today's village, near the church and sanctuary of Sant'Andrea, mentioned in a document from 1242: it was the security offered by a defensive position that led the population to move under the physical protection of the manor, giving rise to a new village stretched along a hilltop spur, leaving the original settlement behind.
