The patron saint of Massimino is Saint Donatus of Arezzo, celebrated on 7 August, in the parish church dedicated to him in the hamlet of San Vincenzo, the seat of the municipality: according to historical sources it was founded towards the end of the 18th century, while the present structure, in the Baroque style, was built between 1818 and 1820.
The town also preserves the church of San Giovanni Battista, in the hamlet of Costa, considered the oldest in Massimino's territory, with four frescoed lunettes on the sides and traces of frescoes still visible on the facade, and the church of San Giuseppe, built near the ruins of an ancient castle, perhaps from the 15th century or earlier: once the seat of the Confraternita dei Disciplinanti, it preserves fresco traces dated 1543. The shield depicted above the castle in the municipal coat of arms takes up the blazon of the Del Carretto marquises, who held power over the municipality, anciently defined as a castrum, that is, a village at the foot of a walled castle, of which only ruins remain today: these walls marked the boundaries of the Marquisate of Finale.
