Orco Feglino

Province: Savona · Region: Liguria · Population: 895 · Postal code: 17024

Feglino is said to come from the Latin ad figulinas, the place where pottery is made; Orco is the castrum Orche named in an imperial document of 967, and of the castle on its crag some stretches of wall and the base of the keep are left. The two villages became one municipality only in 1869.

At Orco, on the hill of San Lorenzino, stands a church built between the thirteenth and the fourteenth century that keeps frescoes of the fifteenth and sixteenth, and beside it a fourteenth-century bell tower with two orders of mullioned windows. Around them, an archaeological park. The population is 895.
