The patron saint of San Martino in Pensilis is Saint Leo the Confessor, known as San Leo, celebrated on 2 May: the patronal feast is preceded by the traditional cart race dedicated to him, held on 30 April.
Among the town's other traditional feasts is that of Saint Blaise, on 3 February, with the distinctive horse transhumance from the old church of San Biagio, in the Biferno valley, to the town, where the horses are blessed by the priest in the square at the end of the procession. San Martino in Pensilis also preserves the church of San Pietro Apostolo, that of San Giuseppe, and the castle that gives the town its name.
