Carpinone celebrates Saint Joseph on 19 March; the town once hosted a Benedictine monastery founded in 1064 and donated to the abbey of Montecassino, still today mentioned among its possessions in the inscriptions of the abbey's famous bronze doors.

The patron saint of Carpinone is Saint Joseph, celebrated on 19 March.

In 1064 Count Bernardo di Isernia, son of Laidolfo, founded a monastery in the locality of Acquasonula dedicated to Saint Mark the Evangelist, donating it to the abbey of Montecassino: the complex, under the name «Sancti Marci de Carpenone», still appears today among the Cassinese possessions in the inscriptions of Montecassino's famous bronze doors. The monastery, damaged by the 1456 earthquake, was abandoned by 1519, when Pope Leo X authorised its sale at the request of the local feudal lord; its ruins, within the ancient feudal wood of the same name, now vanished, gave their name to the surrounding locality.

The town also preserves the church of San Michele Arcangelo, with a single nave, whose high altar houses the statue of the saint flanked by two panels by the local artist Ronney di Scienza; the church of Santa Maria Assunta, with three naves, which according to some ecclesiastical sources held the title of «abbazia nullius» and mother church, as indicated in a papal bull attributed to Pope Pius IX in 1854; and the church of San Donato, a bishop and martyr venerated in various areas of central-southern Italy, whose feast is celebrated on 7 August with a religious procession.
