The centrepiece here is not an armoured vehicle but a wardrobe: original uniforms worn by the armies that faced each other in the two world wars, gathered in a single building at Rocchetta a Volturno. The International Museum of the World Wars, M.I.G.M. for short, was set up on 16 December 2010 and now has more than 900 square metres of display space.
What to see
Alongside the uniforms, the largest section is the technical room: over 150 weapons that belonged to the various armed forces of the twentieth century. The route ends in a library room, which is where the museum stops being a collection and turns into a study tool: book presentations and scholarly seminars are held here regularly, open to the public and to enthusiasts.

It is worth knowing who stands behind the cases. The museum is affiliated with the Istituto per la Storia del Risorgimento Italiano, works with the Società Italiana di Storia Militare and has been granted the patronage of the University of Molise, along with the scientific patronage of the Department of Letters and Cultural Heritage of the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli; it also belongs to the Rete dei Musei Aeronautici, the network of aeronautical museums. This is not a pile of memorabilia left to itself, so it pays to ask whether a talk is scheduled on the day you come.
