Castel Rocchero

Province: Asti · Region: Piedmont · Population: 396 · Postal code: 14044

Castel Rocchero is a hill village in the Asti countryside, just under four hundred residents; in Piedmontese, Castel Roché. It sits on the provincial border: two of the six municipalities it adjoins, Acqui Terme and Alice Bel Colle, already belong to the province of Alessandria. The locals are castelrocchesi.

The coat of arms sets a castle with a single tower on a green hill, against a blue field, with an ear of wheat on one side and a fruiting vine shoot on the other. A wreath of laurel and oak and the turreted civic crown close the shield. The gonfalone is plainer: a white cloth.
