The patron of Racconigi is Saint John the Baptist, titular of the church named after him. The feast, though, does not fall on 24 June as almost everywhere else: the town's holiday is the Monday after the third Sunday of September.
September has always carried particular weight in Racconigi: until 1946 the castle hosted the royal summer stays, and the sovereigns usually came between August and September, with the celebrations that followed for the town.
