The patron saint of Ivrea is Saint Savinus, whose feast is held on 7 July. The main celebrations are linked to the horse fair and include a parade of period carriages and equestrian displays.
This equestrian tradition is reinforced by the carnival tradition, since horses and the related craftsmanship play an important role in the historic Carnival of Ivrea, famous throughout Italy for its Battle of the Oranges. The town also holds the Castle of Ivrea and the churches of San Nicola da Tolentino, San Gaudenzio and Santa Croce.
