Pianezza's parish church was begun on 19 June 1727 to a design by Giuseppe Castelli and finished in just two years. It is dedicated to Saints Peter and Paul, who stand in the two niches of the façade.
What to see
The most unusual thing is the bell tower: it rises on the north side and has a triangular plan, with a single-light window on each side of the belfry. The façade, facing east, is divided into two registers by a cornice: below, the doorway between two columns; above, the rose window and the pediment. Inside there is a single nave with side chapels that communicate with one another, and the main altarpiece shows Saints Peter and Paul adoring the Eucharist.
Visiting
The church is in the centre and takes a few minutes to see. The floor you walk on dates from 1832, when the original brick one was replaced with stone from Barge; the façade, on the other hand, was reshaped between 1881 and 1882 to a design by the engineer Pagliano.

The frescoes inside were restored between 2019 and 2021, so they read better than is usually the case in a provincial parish church: it is worth looking up at the vault before you leave.
