Grugliasco is Turin's green campus: the university's scientific faculties — agriculture and veterinary — brought thousands of students among the farmsteads, and the Le Serre cultural park, in an eighteenth-century villa and garden, hosts theatre and festivals. The medieval civic tower remains the village's secular campanile.
The tradition here is mechanical and working-class, bordering Mirafiori; today large retail hubs and parks make it a service city. Turin is a tram ride away: a piece of the belt that found its own identity between study, green and work.
