The patroness of Pragelato is Santa Maria Assunta (Assumption of Mary), celebrated on 15 August; the municipality holds the church of Santa Maria Assunta.
Since 1982, usually in August, the Festa della Ghironda has been held, an international event devoted entirely to this ancient instrument, the hurdy-gurdy. The municipality also holds the Chiesa di San Giacomo il Maggiore, Notre Dame des Neiges and the Museo del Costume.
