The patron saint of Rivara is Saint John the Baptist, whose patronal feast falls on 24 June and is celebrated with the traditional procession on the nearest Sunday, in the Church of San Giovanni Battista.
On 20 June, the night-time torchlight procession is held in honour of the Madonna Consolata. A committee, formed in 2000 by the hamlet's residents and named after the ancient abbey, organises festivities every last Sunday of August in honour of the Beheading of the Baptist, whose day falls on 29 August. The municipal territory also holds the Chapel of San Grato and Villa Ogliani.
