Rivoli's neoclassical parish church, rebuilt between 1786 and 1788 beside a Romanesque bell tower.
The Casa del Conte Verde stands on via Fratelli Piol in Rivoli: a late fourteenth-century house that tradition identifies as the residence of Count Amadeus VI of Savoy, known as the Green Count. The count had set up the Consilium Principis in Rivoli, in the years when the town was being enclosed by walls and the local nobility were building rich houses with towers.
The building keeps the medieval layout typical of the period, which combined home and trade: on the ground floor the portico and the shops, on the first floor the main floor with the owner's rooms, and on the top floors the storerooms and the servants' quarters.
Today the house belongs to the municipality and is used for temporary exhibitions, which also allow visitors to see the interior.
The façade with its portico can be seen from the street; to go inside you need to come during an exhibition, and the calendar should be checked with the Rivoli town council.
The Green Count is also linked to the fair of Saint Catherine, traditionally held on the fourth Monday of November: the first records of it go back to an official document he signed in 1365.
