Cambiasca lies just above Verbania, where the slope begins to climb towards the Val Grande, and it is not one single village: the comune holds together several scattered settlements. Despite its size, this is where the mountain union of the Valgrande and Lago di Mergozzo comuni has its seat, rather than one of the larger towns.
One of these settlements is Comero. Its church of Sant'Anna has a low porch in front, carried on granite columns and roofed with stone slabs, and beside it a bell tower with a clock and a small onion dome above the belfry.
