In honour of the patron Saint George the Martyr, whom the Church celebrates on 23 April, Chieuti renews its appointment with the «carrese», the race of ox-drawn carts, certainly the most eagerly awaited event for all the townspeople.
The celebrations last four days, from 21 to 24 April, and the 5-kilometre route of the race, also recounted in the documentary «Bukura», is full of surprises, suspense and overtakings; the municipality of 1,772 inhabitants in the province of Foggia also holds the Chiesa di San Giorgio, the Chiesa di Stella Maris and the Torre Fantine.
