The patron of Pozzomaggiore is Saint George the Martyr, celebrated on 23 April in the Church of San Giorgio.
The town is deeply tied to horse culture, a central feature of its popular festivals, and in particular to the cult of Saint Constantine: the Ardia, a horse race held as part of his festival, takes place on 6-7 July and 31 August-1 September. The Museo del Cavallo holds numerous tools related to the animal's care and traditional costumes. The area also holds the Nuraghe Alvu, the Nuraghe Ruggiu and the Nuraghe Ala.
