Located 40 kilometres north of Catania and 160 kilometres east of Palermo, Castiglione di Sicilia is home to 3,298 residents. Recognized as one of I Borghi più belli d'Italia, the town received formal regional recognition on 21 June 1994 for its notable public importance.
Known in the local dialect as Castigghiuni, the municipality shares borders with twenty neighbouring towns, including Taormina, Bronte, and Randazzo, forming an extensive administrative territory in eastern Sicily.
