The patroness of Mineo is Saint Agrippina, celebrated on 23 June in the church that bears her name.
She was born in 243 to a noble Christian family, and died a martyr on that very 23 June, but of 258, under the reign of the emperor Valerian: she was beaten with knotted sticks, flogged, nearly suffocated under a heavy stone and placed on the rack, before being beheaded.
