The patron of Sperlinga is Saint John the Baptist, celebrated on 24 June in the church that bears his name.
The village's other date is 16 August: the Castellana of Sperlinga, together with those of the other Gallo-Italic villages, takes part in a historical parade in period costume through the streets, and a jury elects the Lady of the Gallo-Italic villages. On the same day comes the tortone festival — not a great cake, but a local sweet.
