The patron saint of Roccavaldina is Saint Nicholas of Bari, celebrated on 6 December, with the town's cathedral dedicated to him. Every ten years, on the first Sunday of August and the two preceding days, the town holds in his honour the special «feast of the banquet», featuring the blessing, sacrifice and feasting of a calf.
The town is internationally known for its old pharmacy, a 16th-century apothecary shop where, arranged on characteristic wooden shelves, an exceptional collection of 238 ceramic pharmacy jars from the Urbino workshop of the Patanazzi can be admired: one amphora bears the inscription «M. ANTONIO PATANAZI URBINI 1580». The interior, magnificently preserved, still today constitutes an important contribution to the study of the evolution of the art of ceramics. Above the village stands Roccavaldina Castle, or the baronial palace of Rocca, whose coat of arms depicts a silver shield with a red castle and Guelph battlements.
