Monteleone di Spoleto celebrates Saint Nicholas on 6 December; the town gave its name to a famous wooden and bronze chariot from the 6th century BC, now kept at the Metropolitan Museum in New York after being smuggled out by an antiquities dealer.

The patron saint of Monteleone di Spoleto is Saint Nicholas, celebrated on 6 December, with the parish church dedicated to him, next to the oratory of San Bernardino da Siena. According to the archaeologist Adolf Furtwängler, the famous Monteleone chariot, dating from the mid-6th century BC, comes from the town's territory: built of wood and covered with hammered bronze plates, it presumably depicts scenes from the life of the Greek hero Achilles and is now kept at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, which purchased it from an antiquities dealer; the artefact remains today at the centre of fierce international disputes over its repatriation.

On 9 December the Festa della Venuta is held, with the lighting of the Focone della Venuta: a great bonfire, often burning for two days, prepared by the whole population of Monteleone amid sacred songs celebrating the coming of the Madonna. The town also preserves the 14th-century church of San Francesco, today the seat of the Confraternity of the Bianchi, and the 16th-century church of Sant'Erasmo, in the locality of Trivio.
