The patron saint of Scheggino is Saint Nicholas, celebrated on 6 December, with the church dedicated to him in the historic centre. On 23 July the Festa delle Donne is held, reenacting the 1522 historical episode in which the women of Scheggino played the leading role in defending the castle from an invasion by the castles of the Valnerina, who opposed the town being placed under feudal rule.
On the night between 9 and 10 December the Festa della Venuta is celebrated, with the lighting of great bonfires, while on the day of the Epiphany the Canto della Pasquarella is celebrated, in which young people go around the town collecting food as gifts, later eaten that evening at a shared dinner. Scheggino also preserves the church of San Valentino Vescovo, that of San Michele Arcangelo and the Paolo Urbani Truffle Museum.
