Sant'Anatolia di Narco

Province: Perugia · Region: Umbria · Population: 558 · Postal code: 06040

On the coat of arms Saint Anatolia stands beside a dragon, above a bridge. In the sixteenth-century town hall, since 2008, there has been the hemp museum: the middle Valnerina lived on that crop for centuries, and here they keep a book made by hand in hemp, the Leggendario della Valnerina.

The castle above the village is of the second half of the twelfth century; the walls came two centuries later. At Castel San Felice stands the abbey of San Felice e Mauro, dedicated to two Syrian hermits who came to preach in this valley in the fifth century; the church was rebuilt in the twelfth. The parish church holds fourteenth-century frescoes. The 558 residents live on the Nera.
