Scheggia e Pascelupo celebrates Saint Paternian on 12 July and Saint Bernardine of Siena on 20 May; the cult of Saint Paternian, bishop of Fano, is shared with the towns of Fano, Cervia, Sellano and Grottammare.

The patron saints of Scheggia e Pascelupo are Saint Paternian, bishop of Fano, celebrated on 12 July at Scheggia, and Saint Bernardine of Siena, on 20 May at Pascelupo: the cult of Saint Paternian is shared with the towns of Fano, Cervia, Sellano and Grottammare. The old rural and baptismal pieve of San Paterniano, built around the year 1000, was Scheggia's first mother church; fallen into decay because of its secluded position, it was replaced in the 16th century by the present parish church of Saints Philip and James, built from 1535 in the heart of the town beside a medieval tower later converted into a bell tower. The church still holds the 11th-century stone baptismal font from the old pieve and a 17th-century wooden statue of the former patron, Saint Paternian.

Two ancient abbeys also stand within the municipal territory: that of Santa Maria di Sitria, founded by Saint Romuald in the 11th century at the foot of Monte Nocria, and that of Sant'Emiliano in Congiuntoli, probably founded by Benedictine monks in the 10th century, damaged by the 1997 earthquake and now under restoration.
