What to see
The architecture of the complex traces the evolution of thermal tourism in the region. In the mid-18th century, the regional government, known as the Conseil des Commis, alongside local institutions, purchased the springs and constructed the first thermal facility in 1750. The 19th century brought maximum splendor to the area, transforming it into a hub for aristocratic travelers and prompting the town to adopt the name Pré-Saint-Didier-les-Bains. The grand historic thermal establishment was erected in 1834, at which point the older 18th-century baths were repurposed to serve the poorer population. In 1888, the complex expanded further with the addition of a dedicated casino building. Following a thirty-year period of closure in the 20th century, the entire site underwent a major restoration. Today, both the 1834 establishment and the former casino have been fully integrated into the modern thermal complex, a project that successfully revitalized local tourism.

Exploring the area extends beyond the restored 19th-century buildings into the dramatic natural environment that produces the thermal waters. The facility sits adjacent to a deep gorge carved by the river, and recent additions have made this rugged topography highly accessible to visitors.

Do not miss the hiking path that begins directly at the thermal baths. It leads to a panoramic suspended walkway, inaugurated in the spring of 2014, which extends directly over the Orrido di Verney, offering a dramatic vantage point over the gorge.
