The patron of Candida is Saint Philip Neri, celebrated on 26 May.
Medieval records also remember the town for its fairs: in June 1277 the università of Candida was ordered not to hold any fair, on pain of a fine of 100 ounces, while a document of 7 April 1296 granted, at the request of Riccardo Filangieri, permission to hold one on the feast of Saint Michael the Archangel, 8 May; in 1340 Filippo Filangieri, gathering the settlements of Arianiello, Parolise, Salza Irpina, San Potito, Salsola, Manocalzati, San Barbato and Pratola Serra, set up the Barony of Candida.
