This church was consecrated in 1980. Not rebuilt, not reopened: consecrated, with the solemn rite of dedication, by cardinal Giuseppe Siri. It had been standing and in use for at least three and a half centuries, which is a reminder of something easily forgotten: a great many churches worked for generations without ever having received that rite.
What to see
The building appears in the acts of the visit monsignor Domenico de' Marini made to Cravasco in 1631, while in the great apostolic visit of the previous century it is not named, unlike other churches of the municipality: its birth lies between those two inspections. In the eighteenth century there were two campaigns of enlargement, another in the mid nineteenth.
In the eighteen-seventies the pulpit, the floor and the marble baptistery were remade. Shortly afterwards, in 1890, the archbishop of Genoa detached Cravasco from the parish of Isoverde and made it an autonomous parish: before that it was a chapel of ease, that is a church people used but which was not enough on its own.
Visiting
The church is in the hamlet of Cravasco, on the heights of Campomorone, in the Genoese hinterland; it is a parish church and opens for services. Twenty minutes.

Find the marble baptistery and look at it with the date in mind. A chapel of ease could not baptise: for that you went down to the parish church of the next village. Buying a new font fifteen years before obtaining the parish is not furnishing, it is a candidacy. The marble was the argument.
