The patron of Crocefieschi is the Immaculate Conception, celebrated on 8 December. The town's name, assigned in 1750, derives from the word «Croce» (cross), to which in 1733 was added that of the Fieschi, lords of the place from 1253: around the mid-13th century, indeed, the fief of Savignone, which also included Croce, came under the lordship of the Fieschi, counts of Lavagna. The two fiefs were administratively divided in 1678, and the family's rule continued until 1797, when imperial fiefs were abolished by Napoleon Bonaparte: the last feudal lord was Agostino Innocenzo Fieschi.
The town still preserves today the Palazzo Fieschi, facing the town hall, and the church of Santa Croce. In the hamlet of Strasserra also stands the little church of San Bernardo, built during the 19th century, which celebrates its own patronal solemnity on 20 August.
