The carnival of Cosio keeps a tradition of its own, the sentenze: according to a medieval legend the lords granted their people a single day a year to say to their faces what they thought of them, and that day was the last one before Lent.
Today the Pro Loco and the town council hold the party in piazza IV Novembre, with a show, hot chocolate, bugie pastries and the pentolaccia game; if it rains everything moves to the Pro Loco's rooms in via Sant'Antonio. The 2025 edition fell on Sunday 23 February.
