The chestnut is no decorative theme at Montegrosso Pian Latte: the village has a chestnut museum, with a wooden threshing machine from the nineteen forties, and for centuries the chestnut woods were the larder of these valleys.
The festival is held in October by the Pro Loco and the town council; the Liguria Region credits it with more than fifty years of history on the Eventi Autentici Liguri list. In 2025 it fell on 12 October.
