The patrons of Andora are Saint James the Less and Saint Philip the apostle, celebrated on 3 May. The patronal church is theirs, up in the hamlet of Castello: Romanesque, built on the model of the cathedral of Albenga, with three naves, pillars and exposed stone.
People call it «the castle church», and it is one of the best preserved Romanesque churches on the Riviera delle Palme. The Genoese built it to consolidate their hold after obtaining these lands from the Clavesana; it is made of Capo Mele stone, has perfect acoustics and an intact bell tower with a medieval fresco.
