The patron of Vado Ligure is Saint John the Baptist, celebrated on 24 June in the parish church dedicated to him, in the town centre. Built in the 18th century, it is a Baroque reconstruction, with a single nave topped by a dome; the building, restored after the Second World War, has a façade adorned with 19th-century statues by Antonio Brilla.
In the church square there is also an antiquarium, open since 1960 but rarely accessible to the public, which houses archaeological finds from the Roman town of Vada Sabatia, uncovered during the construction of today's town hall on the same square: among the exhibits are inscriptions, burial goods and a coin collection with over four hundred coins dating from the 2nd to the early 5th century.
