The patron saint of Castropignano is Saint Peter Martyr, also called Peter of Verona, celebrated on 29 April. His statue is kept in the three-nave church of San Marco e San Pietro Martire, alongside those of San Liberato, the Addolorata, the Immaculate Conception, the Virgin of the Rosary, the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Saint John, Saint Michael and Saint Roch.
The town also preserves the Castello d'Evoli, whose history begins with Giovanni d'Evoli, baron of Frosolone, a Norman noble who built it under the Angevins in 1362 over the remains of a Samnite fortress, itself built on prehistoric fortifications, as shown by pottery fragments found in the area: near the Cantone della Fata stand cyclopean walls datable to between the 5th and 3rd centuries BC, the era in which the Samnites, who inhabited this territory, fought the Romans in three wars lasting about eighty years, ultimately being defeated. After Giovanni, the castle passed to Andrea d'Evoli, advisor to Alfonso I of Aragon.
