The land here does not hold together: the hamlet of Casa del Bosco is an administrative island hemmed in by Villa del Bosco, Roasio and Lozzolo, and getting there from the village means leaving the comune and even the province. The rest straddles the divide between the Sessera and the Rovasenda.
The parish church of San Lorenzo rose on the ruins of the castle, destroyed in 1527, and was rebuilt from 1680 onwards, keeping the old castle tower as its belfry: the cobbles of the wall still show below the bell chamber. Bramaterra, the local red, takes its name from a plot of land here.
