Pocapaglia

Province: Cuneo · Region: Piedmont · Population: 3,330 · Postal code: 12060

The castle appears for the first time in a document of emperor Otto III, in 998. It then belonged to the Falletti, who had it rebuilt around the middle of the fourteenth century because the French had badly damaged it.

In 1784, when the Falletti line died out, the castle passed to the Savoy, who later sold it to private owners. The town lies in the Roero, and besides the parish church of Santi Giorgio e Donato it has the confraternity of Sant'Agostino and, in the hamlet of Macellai, the church of the Santissima Trinità.
