In 1986, from a group of Bra friends led by Carlo Petrini, was born the association that would become Slow Food: Bra is the world capital of "good, clean and fair" food, and every two years the Cheese festival turns its squares into the largest international event devoted to raw-milk cheeses. The Bra sausage, made of veal by ancient privilege, is bought raw from the butchers as tradition demands.
