The church of San Giacomo Apostolo stands on the square facing the entrance of the Castello Galli, built on the ruins of the old chapel of the same name that belonged to the Darmelli. The first written documents naming it are from the end of the sixteenth century: one, dated 25 October 1584, is kept in the parish archive.
What to see
The facade is of exposed brick and is dominated by the wooden doorway, above which a niche holds the bust of Saint James the Apostle, titular of the church and patron of the village. The layout is baroque, with a single nave; the chapels were frescoed by the Piedmontese painter Nicola Arduino and the side altars are mostly baroque.
Visiting
The light comes in through rectangular windows opening on the walls of the barrel vaults that cover the hall, the presbytery and the apse: a bright interior with no surprises of plan, where what matters is what hangs on the walls. In the chapel of San Giacomo an eighteenth-century fresco was recently rediscovered.

It is worth knowing that this parish is as young as the municipality. Until the eighteenth century San Giacomo was a simple church depending on the collegiate of Santa Maria in Moncalieri; only in 1781, after various petitions to the religious authorities, did the people of La Loggia obtain its detachment and its erection as a parish of free collation. The municipality itself would be born thirty-six years later.
