The patron of Sedilo is Saint John the Baptist, celebrated on 24 June; the municipality holds the Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista. The town's cultural events are mainly tied to the religious life of the community, and the event of greatest prominence is the feast in honour of Saint Constantine the Emperor, which culminates on 6 and 7 July with the Ardia, a wild horse race at the sanctuary dedicated to him.
About eight days after the horseback Ardia, in the octave, or «s'ottada», one on foot is held. Other characteristic feasts include that of Saint Anthony the Abbot, on 16 January, with a great bonfire, in Sardinian «sa tùva», in the square in front of the church; Saint Isidore, on 15 May, with the procession accompanied by carts adorned with flowers and by farm equipment; and Saint Basil the Great, on 1 September, with the characteristic parade of little donkeys.
