Sennariolo is one of the smallest municipalities in Sardinia, on the flat between two rivers, on the western slope of the Montiferru. Its name speaks of water: it comes from s'ena de su riu, the vein of the stream, and recalls a spring that rose inside the village itself; out in the territory the Funtana Ezza, the old fountain, is still there. Above the meeting of two watercourses watches the Liortìnas nuraghe, the mightiest in the area.
On a hilltop just outside the village stands the church of Santa Vittoria: tradition holds that it bears that name for a victory won by the locals over Moorish raiders. In the Middle Ages Sennariolo belonged to the giudicato of Torres, in the curatoria of Montiferru; when that fell in 1259 it passed to Arborea, and in 1417 it was absorbed into the barony of Montiferru. The buy-back from the feudal lords came in 1839. The village is known for its oil and its honey.
