Positioned 40 kilometres northwest of Catania on the slopes of Mount Etna, Maletto occupies a curious spot on the Sicilian map. The municipality exists as an enclave inside Bronte, extending to Etna's peak where its boundary meets eight neighboring towns at a single vertex.
Home to roughly 4,000 residents, this town sits about 140 kilometres east of Palermo. Its borders touch surrounding mountain communities including Randazzo, Castiglione di Sicilia, Nicolosi, and Zafferana Etnea.
