The patron saint of Troina is Saint Sylvester, a monk born in the town, celebrated on 2 January with the Festa dei Ramari, which carries a river of laurel branches in procession. The town's most important traditions are tied to the celebrations in his honour: the first Saturday of June sees a procession through the town's streets carrying the saint's relics, while the following day, in the early afternoon, the historic Cavalcade, or Kubàita, takes place, recalling Emperor Charles V's entry into Troina; in the late afternoon the statue litter carrying the saint's effigy passes through.
Troina preserves the memory of its history in the cathedral of Mary Most Holy Assumed, in the Torre Capitania and in the town's defensive walls, as well as in the photography museum dedicated to Robert Capa.
