🎉 Patron saint festival

Feast of Saint Bartholomew

📍 Lipari · Messina · Sicily

On 24 August Lipari celebrates Saint Bartholomew, patron of the island and of the Aeolian Islands, to whom the co-cathedral on the castle rock is dedicated.

Saint Bartholomew is the patron of Lipari and his feast falls on 24 August, in the thick of the Aeolian summer. The co-cathedral is dedicated to him, the most important church of the archipelago, standing on top of the castle rock.

It is the day the island gathers: those who emigrated come back, and to August's visitors are added the Liparoti who have been away all year.
