Roccella Valdemone celebrates on 15 August Our Lady of the Audience and Saint Nicholas of Bari; in the 14th-century cathedral, called «A Matrici», the patron saint is venerated, while the marble statue of the Madonna is attributed to Antonello Gagini.

The patron saints of Roccella Valdemone are Our Lady of the Audience and Saint Nicholas of Bari, both celebrated on 15 August. The town's most important church is the cathedral dedicated to the patron saint Nicholas of Bari, built in the 14th century in the main square and called «A Matrici»: the interior, in the Romanesque style, has three naves with a transept, three rectangular apses, twelve monolithic sandstone columns with Corinthian capitals, and a wooden ceiling.

The church dedicated to Maria dell'Udienza, likely built by the Spadafora family, houses a beautiful marble statue of the Most Holy Mary of the Audience holding the Child, from 1526, attributed to Antonello Gagini based on the Dormitio Virginis reproduced on the base, a sort of signature of the work. In 1463, under the barony of Francesco Statella, the town obtained from the sovereign the privilege of the Fiera Franca (free fair), in memory of services the baron rendered in Catalonia: since then, in the evening hours of 11 August, a boy chosen among Roccella's prominent families, dressed in festive attire and escorted on horseback by the baronial guard, would enter the town amid the ringing of bells and gunfire, to plant a flag on the bell tower of the church of Santa Maria.
