The patron of Caltavuturo is Our Lady of Help, celebrated on 10 September. The cult of the Virgin of Help, also called Succurre Miseris, was born in Palermo in 1306: in Italy today she is patron of only a few cities, including Caltavuturo, Castellammare del Golfo, Cori, Montalcino, San Severo and Sciacca.
Caltavuturo's religious calendar is particularly rich: besides the patron, the town celebrates Saint Calogero, Saint Joseph, the Most Holy Crucifix, the Blessed Sacrament, the Madonna del Carmelo and Saint Lucy. Saint Calogero, a hermit monk venerated as a wonder-working saint by both the Catholic and Orthodox Churches, is the patron of very many towns in Sicily, and is particularly venerated also in Caltavuturo, besides in Naro, where he is patron, and in Agrigento, where he is co-patron. The town also preserves the Castello di Caltavuturo and hosts every year, in the second week of August, the Festival del Folklore, an international folklore review.
