The patroness of Cinisi is Saint Fara, celebrated on the first Sunday of July in the cathedral dedicated to her, built together with the original Benedictine monastery: the conventual building, once attached to the church, today houses the town hall.
On the coast of Cinisi the old watchtowers still stand, part of the coastal defence system of Sicily, built on the design of the Florentine architect Camillo Camilliani, the same architect behind the Fontana Pretoria in Palermo: the Torre Pozzillo, the Torre Mulinazzo and the Torre della Tonnara dell'Ursa are among the oldest and most historically rich buildings in the area.
